Sometimes a really good question stays with you. This week, that question has been one I first heard from Hiro Boga:

If you trusted yourself, what would you choose?

A few nights ago, I found myself pondering this question after being yanked out of a serious bout of self-doubt by some very wise friends. in the course of our conversation, I had the realization that the self-doubt I’d been experiencing stemmed from a lack of self-trust.

Once I recognized that, I was able to return to Hiro’s question.

If you trusted yourself, what would you choose?

Later in the week, one of my coaching clients was reflecting on how her life has shifted – in major, positive ways – over the past year. I asked her what she noticed about the choices she had made, and she answered, “What has brought me here is releasing what other people think & focusing on what I needed to do for me.”

Again: Self-trust. Releasing the fear.

So here’s your curiosity experiment for this week:

  • If you trusted yourself, what would you choose?
  • How might you choose differently if everyone was rooting for you to carve your own path?
